107 yr. old Lady seeks spouse

BEIJING (Reuters) – A 107-year-old Chinese woman who was afraid to marry when she was young has decided to look for her first husband and hopes to find a fellow centenarian so they will have something to talk about, a Chinese paper reported.

Wang Guiying is worried she is becoming a burden to her aging nieces and nephews since breaking her leg when she was 102 and had to stop doing chores like washing her clothes.

"I'm already 107 and I still haven't got married," the Chongqing Commercial Times quoted her saying. "What will happen if I don't hurry up and find a husband?"

Born in southern Guizhou province the child of a salt merchant, Wang grew up watching her uncles and other men scold and beat their wives and often found her aunt crying in the woodshed after an attack, the paper said.

"All the married people around there lived like that. Getting married was too frightening," she said of an era when Chinese women had few rights and low social standing.

Many also had their feet bound in an excruciating process aimed at making them look more dainty and marriageable.

After Wang's father, mother and older sister died, she still shied away from marriage. Instead she moved to the countryside and survived as a farmer until she was 74 years old and no longer strong enough to work in the fields, the report said.

Her nephew in the booming city of Chongqing then took Wang in, but she is worried he and her other nephews and nieces are too old to take care of her now even the youngest is 60.

"My nephews and nieces are getting older and their children are already tied up with their own families and I am becoming more and more of a burden," she said.

Local officials have said they are happy to help Wang search for a 100-year old groom, and suggested her family get in touch with old people's homes to find candidates, the paper said.

Through the eyes of a dog

It was morning time and I had just been woken up by the constant shuffle of my owner in his usual morning routine. This routine included slamming the snooze button on the clock continuously, then finally dragging out of bed in a sudden rush to get to work. You see my master, Ted, was a procrastinator to the worst degree. In fact, if I had my say so around here, he would get up 2 hours early for work. But nobody listens to my opinion...just like ol' Hank the cowdog in his series. He always seems to know best but his masters don't listen to him one bit. They'd much rather pester him or call him "pooch." Boy do I hate that word, "pooch." I tell you what, If my master ever called me that I'd gnarl his couch to shreads, but luckily the thought of saying that has never dawned upon him. Now where was I...oh yes! The master had woken up and he was getting ready for work in a hurried manner when we both heard a smash in the back yard. He rushed outside with me behind him only to find that the neighbor had cut down a tree in the back yard. "Hey!", said Ted, "I told you not to cut down that tree till' I got back from work so I could help! Don't make me sick Ruffus on you!" After a short laugh from the neighbor, we both retreated back inside. By this time Ted had noticed the time and was running to the garage with his lunch in hand. "Bye Ruffus! Don't tear anything up while I'm gone!" Believe me, I thought, if he had called me pooch on the way out, I would have...

Room 101

If I was sent to face my fears in room 101, my worst fear would be someone forcing me to watch one of my own friends or family die before my eyes. That would be the most unbearable thing I think I could witness and to know I would have to sit there and watch my friend die without being able to help or intervene would rip me apart. In the end, I would be left broken and helpless just like Winston in 1984.

Once upon a Christmas, there was a grave mistake that almost ruined the whole day. It was caused not by Clause but by the reindeer they say. Not a creature was stirring, it was way too cold, but Santa didn't care, he was too bold. So he loaded up his sled and prepared to depart, but little did he know it might be his last night under the light of the stars. He rounded up the 9 reindeer and prepared to depart and gave them a mush prompting the start. The reindeer heaved and off they went in the cold night that was sure to be spent. Something caught Santa's eye though just before take off and it gave him a great chill, It was the doe Clarice in the path of the sled. The reindeer seized and slid to a stop, and poor santa went up with a flop. His hands were waving, his yell was fierce, but the reindeer didn't care, Clarice was FAIR!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is probably my second favorite holiday of the year, besides x-mas. I mean the food is just amazing, if not better than Christmas!! I mean the ham, the turkey, and all the delicious pies! I'm biting my hand as I'm typing this! But probably my favorite food of all on thanksgiving would be the ham, because I'm allergic to turkey...

10 reasons I love Thanksgiving break:

1. The food!
2. Time off school!
3. It's a holiday!
4. More food!
5. Family gatherings
6. The sleep I get after getting a full stomach
7. The weird gobbling noises I make all thanksgiving day just to annoy people
8. Thanksgiving football on TV
9. Relaxation
10. Oh, and did I mention the food?

Who Packs My Parachute?

People Who Pack My Parachute:
1. Moms
2. Dad
3. JR and Parents
4. Micheal and Parents
5. Uncle Heath
6. Aunt Darla and Daphne

Out of all the people who "pack my parachute", my mom packs the most. She is the one who supplies for me, giving me food, clothes, shelter, organization (keeps the house clean n' stuff), and most of all her love and support.

I haven't eaten in the cafeteria in months!!

It seems like forever since I've eaten in the cafeteria. All I do now is go to friends houses and mooch off of them and eat all their food haha. They don't seem to have a problem with it and I sure don't. I mostly eat at my friend JR Sumpter's house because his mom cooks lunch everyday for him or goes to McDonald's or something. She supplies food for two now though and strangely enough, I have all this food at my house that I could eat at lunch...but whats the point? Why eat all my food, when I could eat someone else's?
